It would have helped if you would have said what program was logging your chat. I take it your on about MSN? in MSN go to tool > options and left hand side click Messages you can turn the logging off in there.

—> (the answer to ur question) Open Live messenger, go to options
THIS CAN BE DONE 2 ways , press alt (button on keyboard) go to tools then option
A. Or even easier click on ur display name where it says your status (that arrow pointing down) Go down to options
B. Now look on your left (there is a list of a bunch of things)
C. Go to – Messages , under message theory uncheck whatever you don’t want !!
