The same thing happened to me, i think what you can do is block that person from knowing you and he wont be able to txt you anymore

They are changing all the options pages and they are still under construction. I assume we will be able to turn it off once they’ve finished. So we need to be patient, me thinks. It is a pain though, it slows the initial loading.
I just hope we’re not forced to use the new version of mail in the end. It is truly awful, scrunching everything into that little box. Yahoo mail is the best, I hope it stays that way.
