How can I prevent the Chat in my inbox from automatically logging on when I open Yahoo mail?

Ymmo the Heathen asked:


It signs me out of Yahoo messenger and I find this very annoying. Also, every time I open a new mail window in a new tab, it signs me out and back in.

Where are some setting to get rid of the chat on the yahoo mail page?

  click on where it says “Available” on the top of the page and select “Sign out of chat”.
  when you will go again to your yahoo mail it won’t sign you in to messenger automatically
